There is nothing small about small businesses. In fact, as of 2020, there were 31.7 million SMBs in the U.S. – that’s 99.9% of all businesses – with 3.7 million of those being micro businesses with one to nine employees. And not only that, but small businesses create 1.5 million jobs annually and account for 64% of all new jobs in the U.S.

As far as we’re concerned, every week should be small business week, especially given the impact that COVID-19 has had on small businesses globally. Through the face of uncertainty and challenges, small businesses continue to push forward and embrace novel change and innovation while collaborating and connecting in new ways!

Small businesses are the unsung economic heroes around the globe. Which is why, now more than ever, it’s well worth celebrating National Small Business Week and the small businesses we care about! As such, we wanted to highlight some of our small business customers using GoTo who have made a big impact on their respective communities:

Rowley & Associates

Rowley & Associates is dedicated to transforming businesses through customer satisfaction and sentiment. They help small businesses naturally grow revenue and improve net promoter scores so companies can do what they do best!

David Rowley, President and CEO at Rowley & Associates relayed to us how GoToConnect, GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar, LastPass and Rescue have been key to running his business. He said:

“During the pandemic I have relied on these to meet with customers and to complete projects. Without these products, I wouldn't have been able to stay in business.”

EMS Copiers

Founded in 1970, EMS Copiers provides managed print services for schools and businesses across Ireland – supplying, leasing and servicing photocopiers, printers and AV equipment.

And with ongoing expansion and office relocation, especially during the pandemic, calls were being lost and call quality was variable with their standard VoIP phone system. With GoToConnect, EMS Copiers staff can now work from anywhere while never worrying about missing a call.

John O’Brien, Sales Manager at EMS Copiers, says:

“The new system has significantly improved the quality of our service to customers. Previously, our service department could miss several calls a day, but now calls are rarely missed, thanks to reliable voicemail and messaging.”

Love Builder

We’ll give you one guess as to what this company does — it’s woven right into their company name. Love Builder was born out of a passion for helping people. Grounded in scientifically proven relationship research, Love Builder provides live, educational GoToWebinars focused on strategies and tools proven to enhance interpersonal relationships. Dr. Jessica Griffin and Jonathan Francetic are a powerful, well-balanced team who help their clients create long-lasting relationships they’re proud of.

When asked to sum up his GoToWebinar with Accept Payments experience, Jonathan Francetic, Co-Founder and Director of Business Operations said:

“It saves me so much time, effort and headaches compared to how we used to have to do it. Literally all our company does right now is webinars, so it saves me all the legwork.”

Certification Partners

In today’s modern workplace, learners of all ages need to hone and develop the skills essential for success in their field. Certification Partners’ premier CIW brand provides professional-level standards and job skill certifications. And when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, many of Certification Partners’ customers found that they were unprepared for the transition to a remote learning environment.

However, with the assistance of GoToMeeting, GoToWebinar and LastPass, Certification Partners was able to promote stellar customer support and experiences, as well as aid with internal efficiencies, security and productivity. Todd Hopkins, VP of Operations and Product Development, said:

“Historically, creating a certification exam required bringing subject matter experts (SMEs) into your office for two to four days. Now we can get on a GoToMeeting and bring people in from around the world without them having to take all this time.”

Mohawk Medbuy Corporation

This national, not-for-profit, shared services organization is entrusted by hundreds of Canadian hospitals and health care providers to drive value, efficiencies and cost-savings on supplies and services. Because of this, they rely on collaboration to work with the clinical, procurement, logistics and finance teams at the hospitals and health care facilities that comprise their Membership to develop innovative solutions for their patients.

Lorraine Voorberg, MEOD Coordinator at Mohawk Medbuy said:

“It was a seamless transition to convert our phone-call or in-person meetings over to video meetings using GoToMeeting. Through the webinars offered by Erica Maki and the website how-tos, I quickly became an expert in the platform and helped colleagues navigate the product as well so that business didn't miss a beat.”

From collaboration, to remote access and support, and identity management, our products help businesses — and small businesses — around the world do their best work, from anywhere. Our small business customers are making a huge impact in their communities across the globe, and we love playing a small role in their not-so-small journey.
