June is Pride Month in the U.S. which is a time of celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, our LGBTQ+ employees, and their families, but also reflecting on current inequalities. GoTo is committed to leading the tech industry in being a more inclusive and equitable workplace, which is why we are excited to share that GoTo has made the 20th annual Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index. This is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ+ workplace equality. As the newly rebranded GoTo, we are honored to announce we have received a score of 90 out of 100 during our first year of participation, joining the ranks of just 1,300 U.S. businesses that also made the list. By joining the 2022 Corporate Equality Index we’ve committed to champion the areas we are excelling and seek opportunities to further advance our support and inclusion for our LGBTQ+ employees. While the Index surveys U.S. businesses, our inclusion efforts support our U.S.-based and our employees around the world.
Here's how GoTo is leading the way in LGBTQ+ workplace equality:
- GoTo scored 100% in Workforce Protections as our nondiscrimination policy includes gender identity and sexual orientation and offers more protections than what most states require.
- Scored 100% in Inclusive Benefits for our partner benefits, transgender-inclusive healthcare coverage and our inclusive family planning resources. GoTo is leading the way as 74% of the participating companies surveyed offered domestic partner benefits and 88% had transgender-inclusive benefits. These benefits include domestic partner healthcare coverage, inclusive family-forming and adoption support.
- Our Employee Resource Group efforts scored high in Supporting an Inclusive Culture and Corporate Social Responsibility. For example, our Pride@GoTo ERG is committed to being a safe, open, and welcoming space for all LGBTQIA+ employees so they can bring their true, authentic selves to work, with an aim to explore and celebrate all GoTo employees' differences as well as support and educate the entire community in identifying and eliminating personal biases. Through our charitable giving initiative, GoTo Gives, we donate to LGBTQ+ focused nonprofit organizations such as Rainbow Railroad, The Trevor Project, and more.
By participating in the Human Rights Campaign Foundations’ 2022 Corporate Equality Index, we’ve also gained valuable insights where we can continue to evolve. There is always room for improvement and we’re looking at best practices for examining workplace inequality through training and data collection.
I’m proud of GoTo for making it onto the 2022 Corporate Equality Index our first year participating. I’m proud of our 90% score. And I’m proud of all the GoGetters whose efforts have led the way for a more inclusive and equitable experience for the LGBTQ+ community at GoTo.
