Screen Share with Ease in Your Online Meetings
Why screen sharing?
Many businesses rely on screen sharing for remote product demos or sales pitches. But just as many teams use it to collaborate better as a geographically dispersed workforce. In just a click, you can get everyone on the same screen, working together in real time. Meeting participants can pass presenter controls, annotate on their screens and more to communicate clearly.
The advantages of screen sharing for businesses
Screen sharing is an indispensable part of the modern business’s toolkit.
Improve your communication
While audio-only conference calls have their place, they’re missing a key piece of the communication puzzle – the visuals. Explaining a project, design or product experience is much simpler when you can quickly show people what you’re talking about.
Close more deals
With a screen sharing tool, your sales team can easily do walkthroughs and present pitch decks to prospect worldwide. This gives small businesses a global reach and large businesses a faster, easier way to connect with their customers.
Empower virtual teams
Working remotely is the norm for many professionals, and businesses are increasingly dispersed. To ensure that your teams can truly work together, you need tools that bring them together. Screen sharing is a solution every virtual team depends on.
Cut down on travel
Your teams no longer need to travel for every meeting with customers, partners or even co-workers in other offices. Simply by sharing your screen in online meetings, you can save everyone time and slash your business expenses.

Screen Sharing Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I share one application only?
You can share a single application by right-clicking the Screen icon on the Control Panel and then selecting an application from the list. Sharing just one application can help keep attendees focused on your content and not your notifications.
- Can I stream video while screen sharing?
GoToMeeting does not yet support streaming video, but it’s coming soon! In the meantime, you can still play a video during your meeting at a reasonable speed, but bandwidth and local connectivity may affect the quality.
- Can other people in my meeting share their screens?
Of course! Just select a participant’s name from the dropdown list to invite them to share their screen. Or, if you’ve enabled the setting to allow attendees to present without permission, your attendees can simply click the Screen icon in their own Control Panel to start presenting.
You’ll need a GoToMeeting account to start a meeting and start presenting, but your attendees can join with just a link. Don’t have an account yet? Try free screen sharing for 14 days with your own GoToMeeting trial.
- Can I share my Mac screen?
You bet! With GoToMeeting, you can share your Mac screen to attendees on any other device. It’s just as simple as on Windows – simply click the Screen icon in the GoToMeeting toolbar.
- Can I share my screen on iPhone or iPad?
Yes! After years of restricting screen access on mobile devices, Apple now allows services like GoToMeeting to share iPhone and iPad screens remotely. Your meeting attendees on other iOS devices, as well as on Android or desktop devices, will see what you present in real time.
