Rich in history the castle can be accessed from the Harvey West parking lot beside Highway 89. Follow the clearly marked trail for one mile as it declines 500 feet of elevation, which means the hike back is all up hill.

Scuba diving is permitted only in the underwater park. The Boat Camp is located where the old Emerald Bay Resort used to be on north side of Emerald Bay.

The State Park does not offer boat launches, but they can be found through private launches 6 miles north or south of the park. In conjunction with D.L. Bliss State Park, the parks maintains 20 primitive campsites, which are accessible only by boat, and 268 family camping sites with a table, stove and food locker.

Nearby are restrooms and hot showers. Even though the parks have no hookups, a number of sites at D.L. Bliss will service up to 15 foot trailers or up to 18 foot motor homes. Emerald Bay services up to 18 foot trailers or up 21 foot motor homes. The D.L. Bliss offers a group campground for 50 people, limited to 10 vehicles.
