Unbreakable because...

Maddux's game plan to choose and execute very specific locations for every pitch was ahead of his time. Exploding offense across the majors helped him distinguish himself from his peers even further.

Unbreakable because...

With the exception of his final MLB season (at age 44), Spahn spent his entire career with the Braves organization. He also led the National League in complete games on nine separate occasions. Otherwise, many of those victories would've been no-decisions.

Unbreakable because...

The only players since Aaron to rack up comparable home run totals (Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez, Ken Griffey Jr., etc.) changed franchises mid-career. On its own, his consistency is almost impossible to match, and baseball's increase in player movement adds another wrinkle.

Unbreakable because...

The streak may have actually been interrupted in 1994 (team had second-best record in the NL East) if not for the MLB strike that season. Beyond that, finding so much Hall of Fame-caliber talent and retaining it for a decade-and-a-half was an extraordinary feat for the organization.
