For Added Natural Pink/Purple Color

Juice 2 beets and 2 handfuls of blackberries with 4 tablespoons of water and apply to light-colored hair with gloves (so you don't turn your hands red). Cover with a shower cap and let sit for an hour. Rinse thoroughly.

To Fight Dandruff

If you have dandruff or just an itchy scalp, combine 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice with 2 tablespoons of olive oil and 2 tablespoons of water. Massage onto scalp, let sit for 20 minutes, rinse and shampoo normally.

For Hydration

Mash 1/2 an avocado with 2 eggs and 4 tablespoons of mayo, apply to hair before shampooing. Cover with a cap for 30 minutes then rinse well.

To Lighten

Boil 8 oz of water and steep with chamomile tea bag for 15 minutes. Remove bag and add the juice of 4 lemons. Pour mixture into spray bottle and spritz liberally onto dry hair. Comb through then blow dry or sit in the sun to dry. Shampoo and condition like normal. You can also drink this mixture for antioxidants.

To Eliminate Oil and Grease

If your hair is oily or greasy, put 1 tablespoon of cornmeal or cornstarch in a salt shaker, shake the entire contents onto hair and scalp, wait 10 minutes and then thoroughly brush out.

For Product Build-Up

Mix 1-2 tablespoons of baking soda to water to form a paste. Massage into damp hair, wait 15 minutes and then rinse and shampoo. The baking soda cuts through all the product build-up that your shampoo can't.

For Strength & Volume

Mix 1:1 ratio of beer and rose water and put into a spray bottle. Shampoo and condition as normal, towel dry, spritz mixture onto hair and then comb and blow dry. The beer helps to strengthen and the rose water helps to hydrate.
