Salta is a beautiful city in the northwest province of the same name, in Argentina. It has a population of around 535,000 and offers a subtropical warm climate most of the year round. Salta was founded by a Spanish conquistador called Hernando de Lerma, and it is easy to see the influence of Spain in the architectural styles of certain buildings in the city. The city is also home to a museum which houses some well-preserved Incan mummies!
