The "dead-ball era" during which Cobb played most of his career didn't afford him the option of hitting home runs very often—the ballparks were too big! He led the American League in triples four times. There was a stretch of 21 consecutive seasons (1906-1926) in which Cobb played in at least half of the Tigers' games.

Unbreakable because...

The five-man starting rotation as become the norm across Major League Baseball. That makes it rare to record 31 decisions in any season, and you can't expect to go undefeated when matched up against a wide variety of opposing teams.
