I have been running for over 20 years. These runs are all wonderful, and mileage will be measured approximately from the fountain on the corner of Wilshire and Santa Monica, a great meeting spot if you ever run with someone.

This is the starting point for all runs in this Collection.
Run east from the fountain and you will soon see the popular tourist pond. Avoid the tourists and continue running along Santa Monica Blvd. towards West Hollywood until the end of the dirt path
Approximately 3 miles to the end of the dirt path and back
Run west from the fountain to Whittier and then turn right towards Sunset. Keep running past Sunset Blvd and make a right on to Lexington. Quiet and pretty. Amazing houses. Run along Lexington until it ends at Alpine. Take Alpine back to Santa Monica and return along the dirt path to the fountain.
Approximately 4 mile loop. Mild hills.
Up for a longer run, and plenty of hill work? Then this run is for you. From the fountain, take Santa Monica Blvd to Crescent. Turn left on Crescent. Cross Sunset. Make a right on Lexington and a left on Woodland Drive. Turn left toward Coldwater Canyon. Cross Coldwater Canyon and head up N. Beverly Dr until you make a right and are in Franklin Canyon. A big hill awaits. Your reward: A run around this beautiful lake.
Approximately 10 miles round trip.
If you are up for a really long run, take Wilshire west, cross the 405 and head north to San Vicente. Run along the center boulevard and when you get to Ocean, cross to the dirt path and head to the Santa Monica Pier. A little distance south is Shutters at the Beach, a perfect place to turn around and run home (or take the train!)
