GoTo

You may remember GoTo from the late 90s. GoTo pioneered the paid search marketplace, connecting people and businesses in a new way. Today, a few of us from the original GoTo are once again launching a new kind of search engine. One that's powered by you.

We are excited about our platform and hope you will contribute to everyone’s search experience by making a collection about something you are passionate about. Because when you do, you are bringing a new voice to the world of search, your own.

If you want to learn more, read Our Story, or check out our FAQ on how to contribute to GoTo. If you have any feedback, we'd love to hear it and drop us a line at support at goto dot com.

Founders:

Richard Chino was the first Product Manager at the original GoTo/Overture, and ultimately became its Vice President Business Planning. In that role, he identified opportunities to optimize the search product to provide more relevance to searchers, monetization to partners, and increasing profits to shareholders. He then became the Chief Revenue Officer for MeziMedia/Smarter.com, overseeing their growth towards becoming a Top 3 Comparison Shopping website (until it was acquired by ValueClick/Alliance Data). He currently sits on several boards, such as C2FO, the Pasadena Angels, and the Claremont Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, to name a few.

Joshua Metzger was SVP, Business Affairs at GoTo/Overture, joining the company in the early days as its chief legal officer when paid search was still a foreign concept. After Overture, he went to Veoh Networks as SVP, Corporate Development & General Counsel when user-generated video was just taking off. He remains an avid New York sports fan even though he now resides in Los Angeles and still likes to play fantasy baseball at a site he has owned for many years, Baseball Manager. When not making Collections, or spending time with his wife and two children, he writes plays, one of which won the O’Neill and another of which was performed at FringeNYC in 2014.

Elliot Sloyer was a Founder and Managing Director of Harbor Capital Management LLC and WestLane Capital Management LLC, while spending three decades in the investment management business. He has served on public company boards and is active in national and local charitable organizations. Elliot is currently writing a children’s picture book series called Summer Camp Stories (ages 5+) - retelling fun and educational stories from his summer camp days. When not working on GoTo he enjoys long distance biking with his children, having biked across the USA more than once. Elliot lives with his wife and three children in Stamford Connecticut.

Scott Snell has nearly 20 years of Internet search and marketing experience and he contributed to the early success of the Internet's first cost-per-click, auction-based search-advertising system at GoTo.com in 1999. Scott has worked in a variety of fields including product management, sales operations, online marketing, software engineering, content management, web analytics and workflow automation.
